Governors Call Emergency Meeting Over Petrol Subsidy, COVID-19 Vaccines

A meeting of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) will be held on Wednesday to discuss issues related to petrol subsidy and COVID-19 vaccines.

The spokesman, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, said the emergency meeting would be held virtually.

Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Chairman of NGF Committee on Petrol Subsidy, will make a presentation.

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 will provide an update on vaccines roll out and attendant encumbrances.

Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, will brief his colleagues on the outcome of his meeting with the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Universities.

The meeting is scheduled to commence at 2p.m.; three external presentations are expected.

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Chairman, Buba Marwa, would give a speech on “Managing the Drug Crisis”.

The Department for International Development (DFID) will make a presentation on the NNPC Audit reports and what the states should know.

There will also be a lecture on trade facilitation in Nigeria through e-customs and a Public Private Partnership (PPP) structure in partnership with the British High Commission.
