Former Manchester United forward, Carlos Tevez, has opened up on the controversial sign he held up during Manchester City’s title parade in 2012.
The Argentine had a bitter departure from Manchester United, after falling out with then manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Part of the problem stemmed from the 36 year old’s refusal to sign for Man United, and instead, opting to join city rivals, Man City.
A lot transpired after his departure in 2009, but it wasn’t until 2012, when City finally won their first premier league title, that Tevez showed his true nature.
The Boca juniors star during City’s title parade, held up a sign that had the write up, “RIP Fergie”.
City did quickly apologize for the behaviour at the time, describing it as ‘tasteless material’, but Tevez never quite said he was sorry for his actions.
The premier league winner recently spoke about the incident again, while talking in an interview with Spanish website, Ole, and revealed the reason he didn’t apologize for his actions.
In his own words, “It seems like Ferguson is the President of England.
“Because every time he speaks badly of a player or when he always talked rubbish about me, I never went out to say he had to apologise. When you mess up you should go out and apologise, but I do not apologise.”
For all his talent, Tevez’s stubbornness was always a challenge, but then, none of us is perfect in the end.
