Ondo 2020: Eyitayo Jegede Emerges PDP Candidate

Barrister Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ondo State governorship election.

The primary election which held on Wednesday and had over 2111 registered members of the party.

The primary election was done in Akure, the state capital. He scored 888 votes to defeat Agboola Ajayi, the incumbent Deputy Governor of Ondo State, who had 657 votes and other six aspirants.

The primary election held at Dome International Event Center. This shows that Eyitayo Jegede will be contesting against Rotimi Akeredolu in the next governorship election.

It is expected that he will be going to the poll against Akeredolu to secure the key to the government house.
