COVID-19: Deaths Toll In Africa Hit 7,778 As WHO Confirms 293,722 COVID-19 Cases

Africa has recorded 7,778 deaths due to complications arising from COVID-19.

According to the latest numbers released by the World Health Organization, WHO, regional office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, the number of COVID-19 cases in Africa has risen to 293,721 in the past 24 hours.

Africa has also recorded more than 141,000 recoveries from COVID-19 infections.

As of Sunday, Egypt has 2,017 reported deaths, the highest on the continent, followed by South Africa with 1,877 fatalities and Algeria with 837.

Meanwhile, Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria, has 518 reported deaths.
